1. Who We Are

SurePoint Couriers LLC ("SurePoint," "we," "us") is a Michigan same-day courier and delivery company. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use surepointcouriers.com or drivers.surepointcouriers.com, request quotes, place delivery orders, or apply to drive with us.

2. Information We Collect

Quote requests and orders: name, company name, email address, phone number, pickup and delivery addresses, recipient name and contact details, shipment description, declared value, and order history.

Payments: payment card transactions are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our systems; we receive confirmation of payment and limited transaction details.

Driver applications and onboarding: name, contact details, date of birth, home address, vehicle information (including VIN when provided), licensing details (including driver's license number and photos of the front and back of your license), insurance information (including insurance cards or certificates of insurance), vehicle registration documents, tax documents (including Form W-9, which may contain your Social Security number or Employer Identification Number), and related eligibility information you submit. We also collect records of your FCRA disclosure and authorization (Fair Credit Reporting Act consent — the federal permission we need before we pull a background or driving record) when you consent to screening, and we may receive background-check and motor vehicle record (MVR) results from the consumer reporting agency we designate.

Delivery records: timestamps, delivery status, proof-of-delivery signatures and photographs, and related communications.

Website and technical data: standard information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and approximate location derived from IP, collected through our hosting and infrastructure providers' logs.

2A. Social Security Numbers

When you apply to drive, we may collect your Social Security number (SSN) on Form W-9 so we can pay you as an independent contractor and meet tax rules. We:

  • Collect SSNs through our encrypted website connection (HTTPS) and store related files in a private, access-controlled storage system — not on a public webpage;
  • Limit staff access to people who need the information for tax, onboarding, or legal compliance;
  • Do not use your SSN as your account login or as a public identifier;
  • Do not sell your SSN.

Staff follow a separate internal Social Security Number Privacy Policy required by Michigan law.

3. How We Use Information

  • To provide quotes, schedule and perform deliveries, and communicate about your orders
  • To process payments, invoices, and refunds
  • To evaluate driver applications, run permitted background and MVR checks, and manage contractor relationships
  • To maintain proof-of-delivery and claims records, and to respond to claims and disputes
  • To meet insurance, tax, safety, and legal obligations
  • To operate, secure, and improve our website and services

We do not sell personal information. We do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are used under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA). We do not use personal information for third-party advertising.

4. How We Share Information

We share personal information only as needed to run the business:

  • Drivers and delivery personnel: the pickup and delivery details needed to complete your order
  • Third-party parcel carriers (for nationwide shipments): sender and recipient names, addresses, contact details, and shipment information required to transport the package, subject to the carrier's own privacy policy
  • Consumer reporting agencies / background screening providers: for driver applicants who authorize it, we use a consumer reporting agency (a company that prepares background checks or motor vehicle records) that SurePoint designates. That agency processes the information as an independent consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and its own privacy policy. We may change which agency we use; we will not use an agency for your screening until you have authorized us under our FCRA disclosure and authorization.
  • Service providers that host and operate our systems, currently including website hosting (Netlify), database and form processing (Supabase), transactional email (Resend), and our payment processor (Stripe) — each processing information on our behalf under our instructions
  • Professional advisors and insurers, in connection with claims, audits, or legal compliance
  • Authorities, when required by law, subpoena, or to protect safety or property
  • A successor business, if we sell or reorganize the company, subject to this Policy

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

We use a limited set of technologies that may store or access information on your device, plus server-side analytics from our host:

  • Essential / operational: our hosting provider (Netlify) and application infrastructure (Supabase) set cookies or use local storage as needed for security, load balancing, session continuity, and form submissions. These are required for the sites to function.
  • Site analytics (Netlify Web Analytics): on drivers.surepointcouriers.com we use Netlify Web Analytics. It measures site traffic from Netlify’s server / CDN logs (for example page views and referrers). It does not load advertising pixels, does not set an analytics cookie in your browser, and does not use client-side tracking scripts. Netlify processes that log data as our service provider so we can understand how the site is used and keep it working. We have not enabled Netlify Real User Monitoring (RUM) on this site.
  • Fonts: we load web fonts from Google Fonts. Google may receive your IP address and related technical data when fonts are requested. See Google's privacy policy for details.
  • No advertising cookies: we do not use advertising pixels, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party marketing analytics tools (such as Google Analytics ad tags) on these sites.

You can control cookies through your browser settings (block, delete, or limit cookies). Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site (such as applications or quote forms) from working. Netlify Web Analytics is based on server logs, so turning off cookies in your browser does not turn it off. If we add different analytics tools, advertising cookies, or Real User Monitoring later, we will update this section and add a cookie preference control where the law requires it.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it.

Record typeHow long we keep it
Order, delivery, and claims recordsGenerally no longer than 7 years, consistent with tax, insurance, and legal needs
Form W-9 / taxpayer ID for drivers we payAbout 4 years after the last reportable payment (IRS independent-contractor guidance), or longer if a tax or legal dispute is open
Driver application files for people we never onboard (including license photos, insurance cards, registration, and W-9 if submitted)No longer than 1 year from application, unless a longer period is required for legal, safety, or dispute reasons
Background-check / MVR results and related FCRA consent recordsOnly as long as needed for eligibility, disputes, and legal duties; then we securely destroy them so the information cannot practically be read or rebuilt
Active contractor profile data (contact, vehicle, verified insurance)While you are active with us, plus a reasonable period afterward for claims and legal requirements

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. That includes access-controlled databases, private storage for driver documents (not public links), staff access limited to people who need it, and encrypted connections (HTTPS) when you upload documents. Document files that staff open for review are provided through short-lived signed links rather than permanent public URLs where our systems support that.

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, or to report a security concern, email drive@surepointcouriers.com right away. We will investigate and notify affected people when the law requires it.

8. Your Choices and State Privacy Rights

Company policy for every driver and applicant: You may email drive@surepointcouriers.com at any time to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, whether or not you live in California. We will verify your identity, then respond within about 45 days (or sooner if a state law sets a shorter deadline). We may keep records we must retain for tax, insurance, screening, claims, or other legal reasons even when we delete other data.

Depending on where you live (including California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws), you may also have the right to:

  • Know / access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect about you
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
  • Limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information, where that right applies
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights

As noted above, we do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this Policy and provide an opt-out method. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows; we may still require verification directly with you.

Note: Having these choices as our company policy does not by itself mean SurePoint is a “business” covered by the California Consumer Privacy Act. That depends on legal thresholds such as revenue size.

9. Children

Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and our driver positions require applicants to be adults (21 or older).

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be noted on our website.
